In the United States, 1,33,000 fresh Covid cases were recorded in the past 24 hours. The Delta variant leads to high breakthrough infections. In six of the states, according to New York Times, breakthrough infections accounted for 18 per cent to 28 per cent of recorded cases in recent weeks.
