"In 95 per cent cases, prosecution that files the (sedition) case knows they'll get bail within weeks - but the problem is the harassment in those 4-6 weeks. Court should add a penal element which will deter cops from registering sedition cases for low thresholds," says Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi. On the Law Minister's remark on the Supreme Court's stay on the sedition law, he says, "Is Law Minister talking about a 'Lakshman Rekha' or a self-serving boundary drawn by government to protect itself?"
