When asked about Congress' reluctance to change, BJP supporter PKD Nambiar said, "Congress still hasn't accepted that it had a leadership crisis, but it's out in the open now, with the party asking a political strategist to save them." Congress leader Sadaf Jafar denied the statement, saying that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were "handling everything".
