Residents in Nepal’s Dhading district moved to safer ground early Sunday after authorities warned of possible fresh flooding. The alerts followed information from Chinese authorities about increased water flow upstream, with renewed flooding reported in the Bhotekoshi River. Early-morning warnings were issued for Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, urging residents to remain vigilant. Locals said they received emergency alerts after authorities reported hearing the sound of a strong flood surge in the river. The combined death toll in Nepal and Tibet has risen to 691, with more than 3,000 people missing, according to the latest updates.
