In a major breakthrough against Left-Wing Extremism, top Maoist leader ‘Devji’ has surrendered in Telangana, marking a significant development in the anti-Naxal operations. The Maoist general secretary, who carried a ₹1.5 crore bounty and was wanted across multiple states, laid down arms ahead of the March 31 deadline. Known as a key strategist of the South Bastar belt, Devji’s surrender brings an end to nearly four decades of guerrilla warfare.
