The Haryana civic polls were close battle between the BJP, AAP and the independents. While the Aam Aadmi Party won 15 seats, while the BJP won around 22 seats. However, interestingly, the Independent candidates swayed the elections with most of the votes. The Haryana Panchayat polls were contested on over 400 seats. The Congress didn't field any candidate on the party symbol, but Haryana Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda says 87% votes went to independents and Congress-backed candidates. The BJP says that over 300 of the over 350 winning independent candidates were backed by the BJP. The AAP says the results are a clear indication that AAP is emerging as a strong option against the BJP in Haryana.
