More safety checks needed at Kudankulam N-plant, says nuclear watchdog

The authorities have consistently claimed that the atomic reactors at the Kudankulam nuclear plant are the safest in the world. However, those claims may have been hollow. Now according to a new assessment by the regulatory authorities, they are not fully impressed by this rhetoric and have sought additional safety measures in their post-Fukushima appraisal.
