Voting for the Mizoram assembly election and the first phase of the Chhattisgarh assembly polls will be held tomorrow. In Mizoram, incumbent chief minister, the Mizo National Front's Zoramthanga is looking to win again amid strained ties with its ally the BJP over the issue of the Manipur ethnic clashes. In Chhattisgarh, left-wing extremism is a big challenge as many of the seats going to the polls tomorrow are in Maoist-affected areas. The Congress is up against the BJP amid allegations of corruption against incumbent Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, something he and the Congress have dismissed as a BJP conspiracy.
