Mehbooba Mufti On Independence Day: ‘Are Constitutional Values Being Upheld?’
On India’s 80th Independence Day, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti reflected on the sacrifices made for India’s freedom and invoked the vision of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Sardar Patel. She questioned whether the values of dignity, freedom and equal justice promised by the Constitution are being upheld today, urging that India should not move backwards.
