In a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on January 9, President Draupadi Murmu conferred the Arjuna Awards to 26 sports persons for their outstanding performances in 2023. This year's awards reflect how well India did in a wide array of sports, especially in October's Asian and Para Asian Games. Two of the Para athletes honoured with the Arjuna awards this year, are supported by the campaign Samarth by Hyundai - a movement for equal rights for people with disabilities.
