Mani Shankar Aiyar: 'Mamata Lost Her Party, Not Her Fighting Spirit'
Veteran Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has offered a striking defence of Mamata Banerjee amid the ongoing turmoil within the Trinamool Congress.
Speaking to NDTV, Aiyar said many of the leaders who once rose politically under Mamata Banerjee have now abandoned her in search of their own political future. Referring to the exodus of MPs and MLAs from the party, he argued that many of them lacked an independent political base and were products of Mamata's rise.
