Karur Stampede | Karur Stampede: Grief Engulfs Families Mourning Lost Loved Ones

Grief has engulfed Karur after the tragic stampede at actor-politician Vijay's rally on Saturday evening claimed 40 lives. Among the victims was 26-year-old Thamaraikannan from neighbouring Dindigul, who worked in Karur. He had come to see his favourite actor but lost his life in the stampede. His body was cremated on Sunday, leaving his family and community in mourning. Similarly, Shankar Ganesh from North Thalipatti in Dindigul, a tailor who commuted daily to Karur, also lost his life in the stampede. His body was brought home for last rites, as family and villagers mourned the loss. His grieving wife said he was their only support and appealed to the government for help.
