As Karnataka prepares for a change of guard, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is pushing for a major overhaul of the state cabinet under the incoming DK Shivakumar government. Sources tell NDTV that the party wants stronger representation for Dalits, OBCs and minorities, while also inducting a new generation of leaders into key positions. With as many as 25 of the 35 current ministers potentially facing the axe, the Congress is looking at a Kerala-style cabinet revamp that balances experience with fresh leadership. The move is also aimed at managing caste equations and ensuring a smooth transition after the exit of OBC leader Siddaramaiah.
