Rajasthan Royals sealed their place in the IPL playoffs after a commanding 30-run win over Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Powered by an inspirational all-round performance from Jofra Archer, the Royals posted 205 for eight before restricting Mumbai Indians to 175 for nine in their chase. Archer first made his presence felt with the bat, hammering 32 off just 15 balls to give Rajasthan a strong finish. Dhruv Jurel contributed 38, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dasun Shanaka chipped in with useful knocks. In reply, Mumbai Indians fought through Suryakumar Yadav, who top-scored with 60. He added 63 runs with Will Jacks and later stitched another important partnership with skipper Hardik Pandya, who blasted 34 from only 16 deliveries. But the Royals kept striking at regular intervals, and Archer returned to deliver with the ball as well. The England pacer produced a superb spell of three for 17 in four overs to shut the door on Mumbai’s chase. Brijesh Sharma provided good support with two wickets. The win takes Rajasthan Royals to 16 points and confirms their place in the knockouts alongside Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
