The Indian Army’s Tiger Division engineers constructed a 110-foot bailey bridge over the Tawi River in Jammu city in less than 12 hours. This rapid response came after heavy rainfall caused a section of the ₹147 crore fourth bridge to collapse on Tuesday, cutting off a vital connection. Despite facing tough challenges like washed-out approaches and cramped workspaces, the army team swiftly built this temporary bridge to restore connectivity, ensuring relief and mobility for the community while permanent repairs are underway.
