Israel Strikes Doha: Netanyahu Claims Responsibility, Japan Condemns Attack on Qatar

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said Wednesday that his country "strongly condemns" Israel’s attack on Qatar and called it an interference on the ongoing diplomatic efforts toward achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. "The attack by Israel interferes with the diplomatic effort, violates Qatar’s sovereignty and safety and threatens the stability of the region," Hayashi said. "While we express our solidarity with Qatar, we strongly demand Israel immediately return to negotiation toward achieving a ceasefire and the release of hostages," he added.
