Iranian Rescue Workers Search For Survivors After Airstrike Hits Building In Tehran

Iranian Red Crescent workers searched for survivors after an airstrike hit a building on Monday in Tehran. Iranian media had reported US-Israeli airstrikes targeted Shohada Square and Pirouzi Street in the eastern part of the capital earlier in the day. It comes as the country’s joint military command threatened to attack "logistical and service facilities" supporting the US aircraft carrier Gerald Ford in the Red Sea. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran's joint military command, said the carrier's presence is considered a threat to Iran. “Therefore, the logistical and service facilities supporting the aforementioned naval task group in the Red Sea will be regarded as targets by Iran’s armed forces,” he said. Separately, US President Donald Trump said he demanded about seven countries send warships to keep the Strait of Hormuz open as Iranian strikes continued to rain down on Gulf countries on Monday.
