The Madhya Pradesh government has initiated action against senior officials of the Indore Municipal Corporation following a deadly outbreak of waterborne illness linked to contaminated drinking water supply in parts of the city. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav personally reviewed the situation, opposition parties stepped in with a fact-finding exercise, and the High Court sought a detailed status report.
Chief Minister Yadav said on Friday that immediate disciplinary and corrective steps had been ordered after a high-level review of the incident that has so far claimed at least eleven lives and hospitalised more than a hundred people.
