With global maritime security in focus due to the West Asia conflict, India is reaffirming its commitment to collaborative maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region, with the second edition of Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR commenced on 16th March 2026. Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) Sagar is being flagged off at naval dockyard, Mumbai today, with a focus on furthering engagement with the littoral nations and enhancing maritime security cooperation with friendly foreign countries (FFCs). IOS Sagar is a major initiative by the Indian Navy following up on its maiden deployment in 2025.
