Indian American couple Chandrika and Ranjan Tandon have donated $100 million - Rs. 650 crore - to New York University's School of Engineering making this the largest philanthropic contribution by Indian Americans. The sister of Pepsi chief Indra Nooyi, Chandrika Tandon is a Grammy nominated musician and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and Ranjan is an engineer from IIT. The couple moved to the US and made their fortune in the financial services industry. NDTV's Namrata Brar asked them what motivated them to make this contribution and if philanthropy in America is far more common than in India.
