The Uttar Pradesh government has announced partial reopening of its schools after August 15. Due to the ongoing pandemic and students being forced to switch to online classes, a significant amount of backlog was witnessed in the education. Primary class students in government schools in the state's rural areas were the hardest hit due to a huge digital divide.
