IIT Bombay Suicide Case | Cops Register Abetment Of Suicide Case, Sahil Wakode's Father Alleges Abuse

Police have registered an abetment of suicide case following the death of second-year IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode. The case was filed on a complaint by Sahil’s father, who named several people and alleged caste-based abuse and harassment. Police said those named are being investigated. IIT Bombay said Sahil was counselled after he was caught using a mobile phone during an exam and was assured the incident would not affect his academic career. Students have since protested, alleging disciplinary pressure, while IIT Bombay said the circumstances surrounding the death are being looked into.
