Poonch town, one of the worst-hit areas during the recent cross-border shelling, has witnessed a brief calm over the last 24 hours, with no fresh shelling reported. However, the scars of the recent attacks are stark and visible. Homes remain shut, many residents have fled, and destruction is widespread. In one instance, a motorcycle was reduced to ashes after a shell landed nearby. Massive mortar shells have torn through residential homes in this densely populated neighbourhood, leaving behind damaged structures and a shaken community.
