Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma put up a massive show of strength in Guwahati as he filed his nomination from the Jalukbari constituency, accompanied by a large roadshow and heavy turnout of supporters. Aiming for a sixth consecutive term, Sarma expressed confidence in retaining the seat, which he has held since 2001. Recalling his political journey from an initial defeat in 1996 to establishing Jalukbari as a stronghold, Sarma said he continues to receive strong public backing. He also voiced confidence in the BJP-led alliance forming the government again with a solid majority.
