People in many parts of the country continue to face severe heat wave like conditions, with temperatures crossing the 40 degrees Celsius mark in many areas. The mercury soared to 47 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan's Dholpur on Sunday, the highest temperature recorded in the city so far this summer. The streets, usually busy, wore an empty look, with few people seen seeking shelter in parks and drinking liquids to beat the heat.
