Haldwani Rioters Tried To Burn Cops Alive: Uttarakhand Official

An Uttarakhand official has claimed that rioters vandalised a police station and tried to burn police personnel inside. Clashes broke out in Haldwani when a civic body team came to demolish an illegal madrasa, resulting in two deaths and over 250 people being injured. "Police did not provoke anyone. Despite that, they were attacked, a police station was vandalised and the rioters tried to burn police personnel inside the station," said Nainital District Magistrate Vandana Singh.
