H1N1 ‘Seasonal’ Flu: ICMR DG Shares Precautions, Says Maintain 1-2 Metre Distance
ICMR Director General Dr Rajiv Bahl described H1N1 influenza as a seasonal flu and shared precautions to reduce the risk of infection. He advised maintaining a distance of one to two metres from people who are sick, avoiding close contact and handshakes, and regularly cleaning commonly touched surfaces. Dr Bahl said masks are not being recommended specifically for H1N1, as the infection primarily spreads through respiratory droplets that generally do not travel far.
