The Supreme court has put a stay on the Gyanvapi mosque survey for two days, just four hours after the survey began this morning. The court order came after hearing a petition by the Masjid committtee challenging the Varanasi court order. The Supreme Court made the point that the petitioners must move the Allahabad High Court before Wednesday and that the High Court must hear the matter before the status quo order ends. The solicitor general said that no invasive work or excavation work is being carried out.
