Gallantry Awards 2026 | President Murmu Confers Vir Chakra On 9 IAF Officers For Operation Sindoor
President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Vir Chakra on nine Indian Air Force officers for their exceptional bravery and distinguished service during Operation Sindoor. The officers were honoured for their courage, operational excellence, and pivotal role in the mission, which targeted terrorist infrastructure and hostile military assets. The awards were presented during the Defence Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, recognising acts of valour, dedication, and service to the nation. The Vir Chakra is India's third-highest wartime gallantry award and is bestowed for acts of bravery in the face of the enemy.
