Friday prayers were held peacefully across Uttar Pradesh, including the sensitive districts in western parts that saw widespread violence last week amid citizenship law protests. The Yogi Adityanath government had placed the state on a high alert and Internet was snapped in 21 districts. But many questions have emerged about high-handedness and police excesses in the last week.
