France Student Protests Escalate: Teargas Fired As Education Unrest Spreads Nationwide
Student protests continue to spread across France, with fresh clashes reported in Lyon where police deployed teargas to disperse demonstrators demanding action over underfunded schools, overcrowded classrooms and teacher shortages. The movement has expanded beyond Paris, with demonstrations taking place in cities across the country. Protesters have raised concerns over deteriorating school infrastructure, insufficient staffing and long school hours. In Strasbourg, students marched through the streets carrying banners and pushing wheeled rubbish bins as symbols of protest.
