Fresh details are emerging from the investigation into the Flydubai FZ1073 incident involving Omani co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami. According to Israeli media reports, Hammami told investigators that he had planned to crash the aircraft into Ben Gurion Airport. Reports claim he intended to make a normal landing approach before deliberately crashing into the terminal or another aircraft in the final moments. Israeli media also report that Hammami had travelled to Israel several times and used one visit to gather information about the airport. He reportedly contemplated a similar attack as early as July but abandoned the plan because he knew members of the crew.
