Fresh revelations in the Flydubai cockpit attack investigation suggest that Omani co-pilot Al-Hammami told interrogators he was motivated by a desire to retaliate against Israel over the war in Gaza and wanted to "die as a martyr." Israeli media reports also say he had a backup plan: if he failed to crash the aircraft in Israel, he intended to target the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, a facility used by the US military.
