From Piloo Pochkhanawala to Meera Mukherjee, Nagji Patel to Ravinder Reddy, India's contemporary sculptural tradition has always been strong and ambitious. Sculptures are not as easy to make or sell as paintings, but these constraints have never bothered Delhi-based artist Mrinalini Mukherjee who has been working in different mediums, for over four decades now. This week her monumental new work in bronze opens in galleries in New Delhi and Mumbai simultaneously.
