A well-timed ad campaign ahead of Holi that promotes social harmony has not just found itself on the receiving end of appreciation, but also strong rebuttals on social media. Surf Excel has now found itself targeted by fake news on Twitter and Facebook. From claims that the detergent is made of human and pig parts and hence should be boyotted, to false ownership claims, the Surf Excel ad campaign has attracted a barrage of fake news.
