Excise Cut on Fuel Amid War | Govt Says No Lockdown, No Panic
Amid the ongoing West Asia conflict, the Government of India has taken key steps to shield citizens from rising global oil prices and panic.
The Centre has slashed excise duty on petrol and diesel - bringing taxes down to Rs 3 per litre for petrol and zero for diesel - to absorb the global crude price shock.
At the same time, the government has firmly denied rumours of a lockdown, clarifying that no such move is under consideration.
