Arun Jaitley, who held the charge of both the Finance and Defence ministries, spoke to NDTV in Yokohama, Japan. Slamming Pakistan for the mutilation of two Indian soldiers near the Line of Control, Mr Jaitley says "thought Pakistan got the message after surgical strikes... the Indian Army is capable of responding effectively." He also said that Pakistan has been in denial for years, and that he doesn't know who is in charge in Islamabad. Also speaking about the government's notes ban move, he said demonetisation led to a currency squeeze, but in the long run demonetisation and GST are going to add to India's GDP. (Aired May, 2017)
