DMK Slams Rahul Gandhi Calls Over Selective Outrage On SIR 'Duplicitous'

The DMK has launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi over the Congress's stand on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. DMK spokesperson A. Saravanan accused the Congress leader of selective outrage, questioning why Tamil Nadu and Kerala were omitted from a memorandum submitted to the President on concerns over the electoral process. He alleged the Congress was compromising its position to protect its political arrangements in the two states. Rahul Gandhi is in Chennai to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and address a student interaction programme. The Congress has said it raises concerns wherever it suspects irregularities in the SIR process.
