Direct Sugar Subsidy Path Breaking: Industry Body
Abinash Verma of the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) told NDTV that the Rs 4.5/quintal sugar subsidy announced by the Cabinet will only meet a part of the increased cost of cane at Rs 230/quintal. He is hopeful that a pick-up in domestic prices will help bridge the gap.
