Delhi Security Beefed-Up Ahead Of CJP Protest: 500 Detention Buses, Barricades & Metro Closures

Delhi Police has mounted an extensive security operation ahead of the CJP's planned protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, deploying barricades, road spikes and hundreds of buses to prevent crowds from gathering near Jantar Mantar. Police have reportedly booked around 500 low-floor buses for detentions, while movement across central Delhi faces severe restrictions. Connaught Place traders have announced a shutdown, citing public safety concerns and potential business losses. The clampdown has also disrupted commuters, hotel access and media coverage, reigniting debate over the right to protest and public inconvenience.
