Delhi Police have denied permission for the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, where demonstrators planned to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. Police cited the failure to provide mandatory 10-day advance intimation and alleged violations of guidelines during an earlier protest. Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita remains in force in parts of central Delhi. The proposed demonstration has also prompted security preparations, with over 23,000 personnel set to be deployed and commuter disruptions expected.
