Delhi Drain Tragedy: Mithun's Father Says, 'I Had To Enter The Drain To Find My Son'

In an emotional NDTV conversation, Avdesh Kumar, father of 15-year-old Mithun, recounts the agonising search for his son after he fell into a drain in Delhi while flying a kite. Avdesh says he repeatedly urged the administration to bring in machines to search for Mithun, but the rescue operation was delayed. He eventually entered the drain himself to look for his son. Mithun's body was recovered four days later. Avdesh says the delay was heartbreaking and believes his son could have been found alive had the search begun with the necessary machinery sooner.
