Delhi Doctor On Spike In Black Fungus Cases In Covid Patients

The cases of black fungus or mucormycosis - a rare fungal infection -have been increasing among the patients of COVID-19. The symptoms include swelling in the eyes or cheeks, black crusts in the nose and in extreme cases, it leads to the loss of eyesight. At Delhi's Sir Gangaram Hospital, 21 patients of the disease are currently admitted, out of which, ten are in Covid ward. NDTV spoke to Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of the ENT Department of Sir Gangaram Hospital about the rising cases.
