Khan Market Traders’ Association president Sanjeev Mehra has criticised the NDMC’s anti-encroachment drive, saying the civic body was “misguided” about the extent of encroachment in the market. Mehra alleged that the action was initiated before senior officials examined documents provided to traders at the time of allotment. He said traders had objected to the sudden use of JCBs and questioned the lack of clarity over who ordered the action. NDMC, meanwhile, has said the drive was carried out after notices were issued, a claim disputed by the traders.
