According to sources, the event under the banner of Citizens for Democracy is expected to be held at the NDMC Convention Centre at 10:30 am, with organisers inviting citizens from across the country. The organisers say the gathering will oppose what they describe as calls for regime change and anarchy. No BJP leader or MP is expected to participate, according to the information available. The parallel events come amid a wider political confrontation over protests, parliamentary proceedings and allegations surrounding the Election Commission.
