Delayed Metro Project Picks Up Pace, Union Railways Minister Visits Project Site
A crucial metro project that was stalled for years is now picking up pace as the newly elected BJP government has cleared roadblocks and given the necessary clearances. The previous Trinamool Government had refused permission despite strong words against the delay from the Supreme Court and the Calcutta High Court. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the Chingrighata crossing Metro site and hit out at the previous Trinamool government for holding up a crucial metro link for the city.
