Death By Dowry Case: Nikki's Reels On Social Media Led to Frequent Fights, Says Accused Husband's Relative

On August 21, a young woman named Nikki was brutally assaulted and set on fire inside her home in Greater Noida's Sirsa village. She suffered 70 percent burns and succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital. Her husband, Vipin Bhati, has been named the prime accused in what is being investigated as a dowry death.

New revelations have shed light on persistent tensions in the couple's relationship. According to relatives of the accused, frequent arguments took place between Nikki and Vipin over her social media activity-particularly her interest in creating Instagram reels, which Vipin reportedly disapproved of. Nikki also ran a beauty parlour from home, another point of contention in the marriage. These ongoing disputes, as alleged by the family, may have contributed to the escalating domestic strife that ultimately led to the fatal incident. Vipin Bhati is currently under investigation, and the case has intensified public outrage over dowry-related violence and women's autonomy.
