Darjeeling | 4 Tourists Rescued After SUV Gets Stranded In Swollen Darjeeling River
Four tourists had a narrow escape after their SUV became stranded while attempting to cross the swollen Balason River in West Bengal's Darjeeling district. As the water level rose rapidly, the group climbed onto the vehicle's roof before local residents carried out a dramatic rope rescue. One woman was briefly swept away by the strong current but was quickly pulled to safety. All four tourists escaped without any reported injuries.
