You can get yourself vaccinated for free at private hospitals in Tamil Nadu. In a first of its kind strategy to fully utilise the 25 per cent vaccine supplies for private hospitals, the state government has asked corporates and private hospitals themselves fund vaccination under corporate social responsibility. Presently a significant chunk of supplies to private hospitals lie unused while government centres run dry often due to short supply and high demand. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to Tamil Nadu's Health Secretary on this model, besides state's preparedness for third wave and its position on reported deaths due to shortage of oxygen.
