CJP Seeks Legal Aid For Arrested Protesters, Warns Of Fresh Agitation Over FIR Row | NEET Protest
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has appealed to lawyers across India to provide legal assistance to students and activists facing cases linked to the recent protest movement. At a joint press conference with Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Kapil Sibal, CJP leaders alleged that the government had failed to honour assurances made during negotiations that preceded the suspension of the movement. CJP leaders said they are still awaiting a formal written agreement regarding the withdrawal of FIRs and other legal proceedings against protesters and organisers. The group warned that failure to honour these commitments could trigger a fresh round of protests.
